In a day when your Wedding Photography choices narrow to either poor artistry or unreasonably high cost, our lovely couples smile a lot at us.  Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people who made 2009 our best year yet, while 2010 and 2011 promise to be even better, partly because you feel like talking about how we come through for you and love your Day like you do.

***Hello!  Heartfelt Words 7/28/2010***

By all to be seen and heard, the recent availability of wedding photographers from 10 or 20 to lately a zillion per town or city listed at internet wedding sites and searches does not indicate a sudden burst of creativity.  It does indicate a decline in price of  SLR (interchangeable lens) digital cameras, which has encouraged a mass of hyperactive salesmen and inexperienced amateurs all promising "passion" and all mostly bound to annoy you.  The worst offenders are the happy salespeople you'll find at bridal shows, who'll lie to you about most anything including how many weddings they're shooting, the calibre of their inexperienced photography student "associates", and pretty much everything else, then hound you by email every other day until you finally tell them in one way or another to "get gone".  I have recently been made aware of images and portions of my website stolen for use on other "photographers" web pages.  More importantly and about you, more often than ever in the 18 years I've devoted to Wedding Photography, in the last year recently married couples at weddings I'm shooting tell me about people who used the popular buzzwords "photojournalistic", "documentary style" or most recently "fine arts" photography and promised to have a grasp of portraiture but, despite oddly nice websites composed by hired website designers, in reality delivered little concept of artful lighting techniques or composition, emotionally dull images of a bride and groom together on one of the best days of your lives that even Adobe Photoshop mega-enhancement still couldn't "warm up", a slew of mostly forgettable candids, and as depressingly missed many requested shots altogether.  The good news is these "photographers" will probably disappear in a year or two; the bad news is by then they've left an indelible stain on your wedding memories.  Read more about these and other things that matter to me and I think might matter to you, too, on my FAQ page.  Most of all, be careful and choosy--it's your Wedding Day, and it only happens once.  If I'm no longer available for you, I'll steer you in the good direction of other real professionals who love their work as much as I do mine and will not disappoint you.

People who are truly passionate about their work and can deliver that to you don't need to promise what's obvious.

Thank you for reading.  Write to me.

Kindly, Ernie

When we shoot digital, we shoot strictly in RAW format--the choice of the most studied and esteemed professional photographers.  We then process all images to TIF format then finally to JPEG.  Shooting in RAW format is important, and something you should know about.  Visit my FAQ page more more information.

I felt happy and proud to learn one of my photos of legendary musical artist Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills & Nash was recently requested for use by the RockWalk Hall Of Fame's website to publicize Stills' induction into the RockWalk.  Another of my Stills photos now appears on the Stephen Stills Children's Music Project photo page.  For more Crosby, Stills & Nash  and other legendary musical artists' photos, visit my "Gallery" page!

These pages are best viewed at 1024 X 768 screen resolution set at 24 color bits depth.  It's also advisable your monitor is calibrated with a color and contrast correction program so the images you view are what photographers like me work so hard at trying to faithfully reproduce for our internet friends.
